Rod Stats Explained

Rods display purchase price, reel speed modifier, max fish tier, and sometimes zone name unlocked. Reel speed is the feel difference in minigames. Max fish tier gates which species bite. Zone unlock is the economic reason to buy — new water means new aquarium stock.

Progression Rods

Linear shop rods form the main progression path. Buy in order unless event rods offer limited alternatives. Skipping tiers locks you out of intermediate species collections.

Special and Event Rods

The Charm Update added three rod skins: Sci-fi Rod (1M in-game Money), Magma Rod (R$599), and Thunderchord Rod (R$499). The Sci-Fi Update then added a Sci-Fi Fishing Rod as a progression piece for the new zone — distinct from the 1M Sci-fi skin. Evaluate against standard rods using ROI — a cosmetic skin does not replace the Power and rebirth needed to reach Sci-Fi water.

Rod Maintenance

Rods do not degrade. You keep all owned rods — switching back for old zone farming is valid when helping friends or farming specific species.
